Notes
a. Note:   Aunt Linda told me that she had wanted to have children. But she had had a tubal pregnancy. And, in those ignorant days, they removed not only the affected ovary, but the other one too. So, she was devastated when she learned she would never be able to have children. I often wonder what medical practices of today will be loked back on in amazement as ridiculous at some point in the near future. Aunt Linda was married once and divorced before she met Uncle Ron. I never did get his name. I don't know exactly why it did not work out. But I do know it did not last long. Uncle Ron told me that they met when they both worked together at an auto factory in Lansing. They both smoked cigarettes and I think they struck up a conversation over having a smoke in the designated smoking area on their break. They had a very good relationship. I know Aunt Linda once told me a story where Uncle Ron's sister Gussy was complaining about something, either having to do with men in general or probably her own husband, or maybe even Uncle Ron in particular, and Aunt Linda just would not participate. Aunt Linda said she told her, "Gussy, you are not going to get me to say a single bad word about Ron, I am just not going to do it." I don't think she really ever had a bad word to say about him. They admired each other very much, as well as loved and respected each other. And really, Uncle Ron WAS a wonderful person - always with something kind to say. She got a gem there that's for sure! they had a cottage on Pretty Lake. We went there went I was a kid several times. It really WAS a "pretty" lake. The Beckers had a cottage right next door. http://www.themorningsun.com/stories/011607/obi_Butters.shtml Aunt Linda's Obituary as reported in the Mt Pleasant Morning Sun Newspaper on January 16, 2007 Linda L.
