Note: he one I believe to be my Great-Grandmother. She died 21 Jan 1904 in Lanno - cause pneumonia, laguppra (as well as I could read the record). I have a copy of the page from the courthouse records of deaths. !Her parents were Alexander and Malinda. The 1850, 1860, ands 1870, census states different places they were born. !Alexander - 1850, Unknown; 1860, AL; 1870, TN Malinda - 1850, GA; 1860, SC; 1870, TN !I show Steve Watts amd Betty Switsler as Alexander's parents. My records show both born in AL and married in Huntsville. This is a family group sheet I received from someone. They got their information from Mrs. Nolan Latham in Johnson City, TX." !As Borrer's genealogy book, 1979: "Kazine Watts, known in the family as Aunt Kis, was the daughter of Alexander and Melinda Watts, and was born about 1835 in Alabama. Alexander and Melinda Watts are listed as living with William and Kazine Borrer in the 1870 Caldwell County, Census. Alexander Watts is shown as being born in Tennessee about 1805, and his wife Melinda Watts was also born in Tennessee about 1809. No listing of them were found in 1880, so probably they had died by then." !From Ernie Dixon, e-mail, 4 July 1998: "Kazine died in Llano, so I suppose she is also buried there, probably beside E. A. Borrer, her husband, but there is no marker. I did not find anyone with cemetery records at the time I was in Llano. I have the Death Record from Llano county for 1904. There is a Mrs. Arkezie Borer, 72 years of age that died Jan 12th. I am supposing this is E. A.'s mother. He also lost a son E. A. Borer, Jr age 21 years on Jan 27th and an infant of E. A. Borer, 8 days old on Jan. 12th. I believe the 72 yr old is his mother, the 21 yr old, his oldest son and the 8 day old infant his 6th child with my grandmother Laura." !I have been to the cemetery at Blanco and visited the graves of Alexander and Malinda Watts. The tombstone have the year of their births reversed from what records say. Alexander's says July 12, 1805, and Malinda's November 5, 1809." !From genealogy book from William O. Hallmark, made by his father, William Otis Hallmark, 1979: "Kazine Watts, known in the family as Aunt Kis, was born about 1835 in Alabama. Alexander and Melinda Watts are listed as living with William and Kazine Borrer in the 1870 Caldwell County, Texas, Census. Alexander Watts is shown as being born in Tennessee about 1805, and his wife, Melinda Watts was also born in Tennessee about 1809. No listing of them were found in 1880, so probably they had died by then." ""1870 Caldwell County, Texas, Census, taken 22 August 1870: Page 152, line 5, house 1044, family 1045, William Borrer, age 33, M, born Ark; Kazine (Watts-Aunt Kiss) Borrer, 35, F, born Alabama, (this being a difference in the 1860 where it was stated that she was born in Mississippi); Elijah, 12, M, Texas, Melinda, 11, F, born Texas, Gasaar, 8, F, born Texas, Alexander Watts, age 61, M, born Tennessee; Melinda Watts, 65, F, born Tennessee; (These were the parents of Kazine Watts Borrer)."" !I have a Caldwell County, Texas Marriages list 1848-1886: It says that a Keziah Watts and a William Borrer was married December 22, 1856. I am surmising this is our people, even though the name isn't Kazine, or Kizz Watts. !From Ernie M. Dixon 7 September 1998: "In the death record book of Llano, TX she is listed as Mrs. Arkezie Borer, white, female, 72 years of age. Died at 10 pm. Cause of death was pneumonia, lagrippa. Physician was H. S. Selman, Llano, TX."
