Notes
a. Note:   From the Anderson Ludeen history book: "Grafs was the name of the farm in Sweden where they lived, and was used by all the boys of the family to distinguish them from all the other Andersons in the village. A medal was awaiting the family from the King of Sweden should they be parents of ten sons. It is claimed the mother's disappointment was great when the tenth child was a girl and thus missed securing the King's medal. So far as is known this is the largest family of children, all born in Sweden, who all came first to Clay County, South Dakota. All reared families which scattered to widely different sections of the country, and took up widely different vocations in life. It should be noted that Grafs Anders Anderson Jr. and wife arrived in Clay County, South Dakota in 13 May 1873, and that Grafs Anders Anderson Sr. and the rest of the family arrived in Clay County on 6 May 1877. Besides Grafs Anders Anderson Jr., two other brothers, Ole Grafs Anderson and Hans Grafs Anderson remained permanent residents of Clay County, South Dakota. Grafs Anders Anderson Jr. brought the relinquishment from Daniel Anderson, which was the NW one fourth of Section 9, Prairie Center Township, and obtained patent thereon on 20 January 1881. He also became the Postmaster of the Clay Point South Dakota Post Office from 14 March 1892 until 6 July 1894. Grafs Anders Anderson Sr. and wife also remained permanent residents of Clay County."
