Note: rrer came to Texas with his brother, Isaac Borrer, at age of about 13, along with the other family members. The family is listed in the 1850 census of Milam-Williams District, Texas, taken 10-11-50, with Isaac and others, which reads: ""Page 33, line 18, house 438, family 454, Isaac Borrer, age 21, Male, born Illinois; Mary Borrer, 18, F, Illinois, William G. Borrer, 14, M, Arkansas; Elizabeth Jane Borrer, 9, F. Arkansas. (These were all brothers and sisters of Isaac Borrer)."" !In the 1860 census, he is listed as living near Isaac Borrer and in the household of Page Jones, a wagoneer from Tennessee. Mr. Jones is unknown to the family, but since the Daniel Johnson family did not live too far, it is supposed that he worked with him in the freight hauling business. Isaac Borrer, William's brother, ran the store at Stewarts Prairie, and needed supplies brought in from Columbus, and Page Jones probably did this. ""1860 Caldwell County, Texas, taken 7-7-1860, census: Page 51, line 11, house 372, family 358, William Borrer, age 24, M, Farmer, born Illinois (brother of Isaac Borrer); Kazine (Watts) Borrer, 28, F, born Mississippi; Elija A. Borrer, age 2, M, born Texas; Malinda Borrer, age 3 months, F, born Texas. (No trace of these two children could be found later.)"" In the 1870 census of Caldwell County and Gonzales County, the William Borrer family is listed in both. Since the census taker was not too sure where the line was, he just listed them in both. William Borrer is listed as being a member of the Hopkinsville Mounted Rangers, of the Confederate States of America, which is recorded 17 August 1861. He is listed as a private. This is the only listing found that showed any Borrer being in the Civil War." ""1880 Census, Caldwell County, Texas: Page 26, line 35, house 219, family 219, William Borrer, 44, M, Ark; Kazine Borrer, 45, F, born Mississippi; Elijah A. Borrer, M, 21, born Texas; Mary Borrer, 21, F, born Tennessee (It would appear that Elijah had married Mary, but her maiden name is not shown, see Gonzales County, Texas, Census, under Elijah Borrer and Mary, for more); Malinda J., 19, F, Texas, Kazzie, 17, F, Texas; William 3, M, born Texas; Laura 2, born Texas, infant, 2 months, born Texas. (These last three children are listed as a nephew and two nieces, but in the Gonzales County, Texas, Census, they are listed as children of Elijah and Mary Borrer)."" !From Ernie Dixon 4 July 1998 E-Mail: "William G. Borrer is buried in Llano cemetery. I believe his father E. A. Borrer is also buried in Llano. I have been to the graves. Both markers are tall. I did not find anyone with cemetery records at the time I was in Llano. I have the death record from Llano county for 1904. There is a Mrs. ArKezie Borer, 72 years of age that died Jan. 12th. I am supposing this is E. A.'s mother. He also lost a son E. A. Borer, Jr age 21 years on Jan 27th and a infant of E. A. Borer, 8 days old on Jan. 12th. I believe the 72 yr old is his mother, the 21 yr old, his oldest son and the 8 day old infant his 6th child with my grandmother Laura. Out of all those children, I think I only have nine cousins. Only five of the children had any children."
