a. Note:   Cumberland County census. CENSUS: Elizabeth Antle nee Desmond is living at her parents' house the year after her marriage. Her husband Thomas was probably at sea. BAPTISM: "Elizabeth Desman, born 6th November. I have Baptised Elizabeth the legitimate child of Richard Desman & Hanna George. Sponsors Catherine Hanraham. Hugh Malone P.P." Birthdate as listed here differs from what was recorded in the 1901 census. DEATH: Following a lengthy illness, the death of Mrs. Elizabeth Antle, wife of Captain Thomas Antle, occurred at her home here, New Year's Day. A well known and highly respected citizen, she was formerly Elizabeth Desmond, daughter of the late Richard and Mrs. Desmond, early settlers in this district. Surviving are her husband; four daughters and two sons, (Annie) Mrs. Harold Rutherford, of New York; (Nora) Mrs. Vern Skidmore; (Irene) Mrs. Herbert Skidmore, both of Stellarton; Myrtle, at home; Thomas, of Stellarton; and James, in Boston; also two sisters, Mrs. George Pleshaw, of Boston; and Mrs. Ernest Dryden, of Parrsboro; and one brother, John Desmond, of Parrsboro. The funeral was held from St. Briget's Church at 9 o'clock Mass on Saturday morning, with Rev. Thomas MacDonald officiating. (Parrsboro Record, 6 Jan 1942)
