a. Note:   Amherst on Friday, June 8th after a short illness. A son of the late Capt. James Willigar, he was a life long resident of Parrsboro Roads. He was a janitor of Christ's Church, Parrsboro Roads for a good many years. His brother, Stephen, predeceased him a year ago, and Clarence, one month ago. He is survived by his half brother, Stainer Willigar and also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon at Christ's Church at Parrsboro Roads with Rev. W. R. Anthony officiating. Pallbearers were: Herbert Krumrei, Keith Willigar, Ernest Harnell and Leo Chappel. [List of floral tributes omitted.] The following hymns were sung: "The Old Rugged Cross," "When The Day Of Toil Is Done" and "I Must Needs To Go Home". (Parrsboro Record, 26 Jun 1956)
