Note: see the Stark Y DNA project for some descendants http://homepage.usask.ca/~schmutz/StarkLines.html "Robertson County, TN, Minute Book 1--April 1800 Ordered that a dedemus potestatim issue to the State of VA, Southampton County, to take the depositions of James Edwards and James Griswell or any one of them to prove the last will of Forabable Stark, deceased." from posting on RootsWeb by Susan Hurt in 2006. Birth and death dates from Shirley Starks via email. She says she estimates his birth date from the birth dates of his children. She provided these records (and others): [ "VIRGINIA TAXPAYERS, 1782-1787", by Augusta Fothergill. ] 1784 - 1789: Indenture of bargain and sale between James Griswit and wife Elizabeth & Zerobabell Starkes. Proved by the oaths of Matthew Cobb, Thomas Pope and Dempsey Cooper. 1782: Taxpayer in Southampton Co, Virginia: 1 = Poll; 1 Slave 1790 Southampton Co, VA Tax Lists:1 White Male, 1 Horse 1800: April; Ordered a dedemus potestation issue to the State of Virginia, Southampton Co, to take depositions of James Edwards and James Griswell or any one of them to prove the last WILL of Forababel Stark, deceased. (Zerubabel Starks) (Note the will has not been found based on any postings I've seen or Shirley's notes) [ Robertson Co, TN Deed Bk F, pg 215 ] 1801: 14 July; Deed recorded; James Norfleet & John Young to Zenebabel (Zerubabel) Starks -- Land in Springfield, TN. (Most likely, the 'recording' happened after Zerubabel's death, before April 1801.)
