Text:   Born On Farm Where He Died and Came From U. E. Loyalist Stock. Enduring an illness of considerable duration, but able to enjoy Christmas with his family and friends, William Fletcher McNairn died at his home at Maple Grove at 6:45 o'clock Wednesday evening. Mr. McNairn was one of the best known men in this section. He was born on the farm where he died, a son of Elisha McNairn and was a grandson of John McNairn, a native of Scotland, who, as a U. E. Loyalist, was the first of the McNairn family to settle in this locality. Mr. McNairn was 76 years old. He was an enthusiastic hunter, and never missed an opportunity to follow the trail. In earlier life he served as a trustee of School Section 4. A man of kindly disposition, he was held in high esteem by all who knew him and his death is deeply regretted. Left to mourn his loss are his wife, the former Miss Zetta Stillwell of Casselman; and four sons--Waurick McNairn, of Morristown, N. Y.; Oral McNairn, of Watertown, N. Y.; Geoffrey McNairn and Stanley McNairn, both at home. He also leaves a brother, Fred McNairn, of Saskatoon, Sask. The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon, leaving his home at 2 o'clock, for the United Cemetery at Mille Roches. The service will be conducted by Rev. C. H. Dawes.
