1. Title:   Interview with Alice Ziemer, 8/5/2005

Notes
a. Note:   Alice enjoyed working for the American Book Co., but was fired when they found out she was married. At A&P she was undersecretary to the buyer. Alice suffered a massive stroke in August, 2008, while at home alone. Raymond had just left for a wilderness trip to Canada, and Barbara was driving to Michigan. Susan tried to reach Alice by phone and , receiving no answer, finally went to her house and discovered her lying injured and comatose in the shower. Alice spent several weeks in Good Samaritan Hospital, but never recovered significant mobility or the ability to speak coherently. She also required tube feeding, a condition which brought her to the care of Burgess Square Rehabilitation Center in Westmont, IL, where she resided for almost two years before her death. Melvin and Kenny Anderson remembered that Alice stayed with them to help take care of them while their mother (Aunt Mabel) was in the hospital for a week after the birth of Stanley. She bonded with Melvin in particular at that time.
