But look at the weights of the 5 girls, all 8 pounds or more. Five Girls the Past Week Doctor Assigns Reason for Girl Epidemic to Spots on Sun Dr. C.C. Gethman reports an increase in the population of Hardin county during the past week of five baby girls. The doctor says that the only way he can account for this suddenoutbreak of the girl epidemic is the noticrable increase of the black spots on the sun. The doctor did not inform the reporter as to whether or not he was an astromoner but he seened, as always, to be most persisten in his belief. The five girls referred to are as follows: Born to Jake Starr and wife living near Hughes, a nine pound girl on Thursday evening of last week. Born to Wm. Ziesman and wife, living on the old Lynn property west of town, a pair of twin girls on Wednesday morning. The fist child born weighing eight pounds and the second nine and a half. Born to J.L. Stiker and wife, living in town, a ten pound girl on Friday evening. Bornto Lacy Hartman and wife of near Hardin City, a ten pound girl Saturday evening.
