Note:   Was in Ohio Vol. Cavalry, Co.I, 9th Regiment, 10-50 Regiment Information from Lucille Warner via Nancy Zimmerman Dunham: "Rush Porter Baldwin was born August 6, 1841 in Seneca County, Ohio and passed away July 22, 1921. His first wife was Phebe M. who was born December 30, 1848 and died June 2, 1908. According to the 1870 census, they lived in Ionia County. Rush was 28 years old and a farmer. He was born in Ohio. The value of this real estate was $2,500. The value of his personal estate was $475. Phebe M. was 22 years old. She was born in Ohio. Their daughter, Addie, was one year old and born in Michigan. According to the 1880 Census for Sebewa in Ionia County, Rush's father was born in New York and his mother was born in New York. Phebe's father was born in England. Addie E. was 11 years old, Clarence E. was 8 years old and Estella E. was 6 years old. Their mother, Matilda, 67 years old, was living with them. Addie E. was born July 22, 1868 and died December 17, 1940. Stella E. was born December 15, 1873. Lee was born October 13, 1883. Clarence E. was born December 13, 1872 and died February 20, 1888. Rush had entered the service June 18, 1861, at the age of 19 for a period of three years, but was discharged November 21, 1861, at Cheat Mountain, Virginia, on a Surgeon's certificate of disability. He enlisted with the Ohio Volunteer Cavalry, Company I Ninth Regiment Company, Twenty-Fifty Regiment, October 1, 1863, in Republic, Ohio at the age of 22. He was mustered in December 4, 1863 at Camp Dennison, Ohio and was mustered out July 20, 1865 at Lexington, North Carolina. He was listed as being absent on furlough in Ohio on November 3, 1864, January and February, 1865, and in March, 1865 he was sick in the hospital in Dennison, Ohio." ---------------------------------
