He was married to Abbie Cole (whose former husband was Jesse Cole, son of Clara Oberholtzer Cole Powell). He lived in Flint for 28 years and was employed by the Chevrolet Motor Division for 26 years. He died, September 4, 1956, suddenly of a heart attack at the age of 63.
