a. Note:   Information from Lucille Warner via Nancy Zimmerman Dunham: "Emma Ethel Brown was born in Lenawee County, February 18, 1888 and moved to Antrim county as a child. She was married to Charles Lewis Warner in Bellaire, August 27, 1903, by Job England, Justice of the Peace. Witnesses were Bernice England and L.A. Seymour. They lived in Torch Lake and Rapid city before moving to a farm in Charlevoix County, Norwood Township in 1905. They had ten sons and four daughters: Clyde William, Jiles Francis, Hommer L., Burton Leroy, Dixon L., Harrison H., Jasper Sylvester, Harley Charles, Everett Jennings, Irene Belle, Lyda Mae, Lucille Audrey, Doyle Lewis, and Leona Caroline -- nine boys before having a girl. Emma enjoyed playing thye violin and organ. After the family was raised, she and some of the sons formed their own music group and played for square dances in Torch Lake at the Masonic Hall for 15 years and different places in Charlevoix. Even Charles contributed by playing the spoons. Charles was born in North Milton Township in Antrim County, June 12, 1882. He worked in sawmills and owned a threshing machine with four other neighbors. Besides farming he owned a shingle mill. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. It was difficult for him to do much work after developing asthma later on in life. He passed away August 10, 1951 at the age of 69, a few days after having a stroke. Emma passed away of cancer of the pancreas May 18, 1958 at the age of 70, at the home of her daughter, Irene, in Taylor, Michigan, Wayne County.
