Note:   Obituary - MRS. RIEHL, 76, SUCCUMBS Benton Township Resident Dies In Hospital Here This Morning. Mrs. Clara Riehl, 76, for many years a resident of Benton township and mother of Harry E. Riehl of 927 Poplar St., Waukegan, who is manager of the Kroger company's store in Zion, died shortly before noon today at the Victory Memorial hospital where she had been a patient for three months. She was born Aug. 28, 1867 , at Preston, Minn., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Kraling. In 1888, she was married to George A. Riehl and a year ago they celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary prior to his death which took place shortly afterward. The Riehls moved to Zion soon after it was established by Dr John Alexander Dowie and they operated their farm, located just south of Zion and formerly known as the Carman homestead, for many years. Another son, Gladstone Riehl, of 2801 Elim Ave., Zion; and one sister, Mrs. Viola (Arthur) Haas, 2016 N. Sheridan Rd., Waukegan, also survive. There are five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A third son Clarence, preceded her in death three years ago., He was employed for years as an upholsterer in Perry Brothers plant here. Funeral services will be announced in tomorrow's News-Sun. RIEHL FUNERAL RITES TO BE HELD SATURDAY Funeral services for Mrs. Clara Riehl, 76, widow of George A. Riehl who was a Benton township farmer for many years, will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Congdon funeral home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion with the Rev. Loren E Pecaut, pastor of Grace Missionary church, and Elder Arthur A Wright of the Christian Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery. The body will rest at the chapel from Friday until time of the service. Two sons survive, Harry E. Riehl, of 927 Poplar St., Waukegan, and Gladstone Riehl, of 2801 Elim Ave., Zion; also a daughter, Mrs. Viola (Arthur) Haas, of 2016 N. Sheridan Rd., Waukegan; three brothers -- John Kraling of Watertown, S.D.; Albert Kraling of Fargo, N.D.; and Emil Kraling, of Minnesota -- and a sister, Mrs. Hannah Zimmerman, of Zion.
