Born in East Chester, the daughter of the late Wakefield and Bertha (Freda) Zinck. She was a member of St. Stephen's Anglican Church, Chester, a charter member of the Royal Canadian Legion F.E. Butler Branch 44, Ladies Auxiliary, Chester. She was a member, active fundraiser and participant of the Multiple Sclerosis Society of the Nova Scotia, she enjoyed and played bridge with her friends, she was a family person who enjoyed her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren. Her many years at Shoreham Village Home enabled her to participate and enjoy the friendship of the many residents, employees and the many volunteers and their activities. She will be sorely missed by everyone. Susie is survived by her daughter, Shirley (John MacDonald), Johnston, Red Deer, Alta.; sons, James (Nora); Reid (Mary Jane), Phillip, all of Chester; brother, Clyde (Laverne), East Chester; sister-in-law, Ethyl Eklof, Chester; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; She was predeceased by her husband, Walter "Tom"; brothers, Donald, Antigonish; Gordon and Clarence, East Chester; sisters, Gertrude Zinck, Kentville; Ella Hume, Grace Rafuse, East Chester; Isabel Jollymore, Mass. Visitation Sunday 7-9 p.m. and Royal Canadian Legion, Ladies Auxiliary tribute service at 7 p.m. Sunday, all in Davis Funeral Home, Chester. Funeral service Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Stephen's Anglican Church, Chester, Rev. Sean Taylor officiating. Burial in Pinehill Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Nova Scotia or Shoreham Village Home for Special Care. //// |
