a. Note:   Maria Limbert - daughter of Sarah - she came with her mother & step-father to america in 1884? They settled in Farmington, St. Francious co, MO. There she met and married John McArdle in 1886. They would then move to SD have 5 children there.In 1900 moved to Sandstone, Pine co, MN - there had the last 4 children Maria Limbert had 1/2 brothers Fred Ward, Oliver Ward, sisters: Elizabeth Ward married Gibb Munson 21 sept 1883. Mary Ward & Louise Ward were born in the USA. The family supposedly came to the USA around 1884? It is believed that both John McArdle & Maria Limbert knew each other in Eng/Scotland. The following is a transcribed letter written by Maria McArdle to Jim and Oda McArdle: 1942 Sandstone Minn June 13 Dear Jim & Oda & family i resived your letter and was glad to no you ware all well your birth record is ok that was my maden namegranpa ward was my step father and i all was his girl and niver had another name til i married dad and forgot all about iti dont think any of the other of the famly knoed ether till it was recorded but instead of Limberg it is Limbert it is a good honest namewell it sure is surprising how the children have growed they sure look good & elthiei am glad they are little and non of them are in this ware it sure is playing hick with som famlies had a letter from annieShe is Noel Mo living will be thire sometime as mike has a month work in Denver he travles by tramthey cant travle like they us to and i gess nobody els can ether annie plans to come hear later in the summer by buss the rest of the famly are all ok and i am not so bad myselfoliver is one of the gards at the prison farm he has his day off to moria So i supose it will be fishingwe are having a cold weet summer so far hale & wind once a weekoliver no sunner get the garden cultavated then along coms a storm and packs it down but things are growing well i gess i will close with love to you all Mother & granma
