Note: February 3, 2009 Zippel, Everett Everett Zippel, 72, Gillett, died Sunday evening, Feb. 1, 2009, at home following a five week illness with cancer. He was born June 11, 1936, in the town of Gillett, to Carl and Evelyn (Nass) Zippel. On May 25, 1957, he married Donna Spice in Oconto Falls. She preceded him in death on April 26, 1989. On March 9, 1991, he married Gwen Schultz in Gillett. Everett lived for most of his life in the town of Oconto Falls, where he began working in the family business, Zippel Construction, at the age of 16. Along with his brothers, he later became part owner in the business. Everett was well known for his skill at operating a backhoe and loved his work, continuing to work until the end of 2008. Survivors are his wife, Gwen Zippel, Gillett; three children, Lynn (Merrill) Wallenstein, Chicago, Ill.; Tim (Renee) Zippel, Gillett; Penny (Mark) Rosenlund, Oconto Falls; seven stepchildren, Richard (Lori) Schultz, Robert Schultz, Randy (Diane) Schultz, Kathy Wooley, Karrie (Dennis) Baranczyk, Karla (Jim) Schuessler, Mike (Sandy) Schultz; 25 grandchildren and stepgrandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Philip (Laverne) Zippel, Gaylord Zippel, all of Gillett; one sister, Lois Zippel, Oconto Falls; three brothers-in-law, Sam (Mary) Spice, Earl (Audrey) Spice, Skip (Sharon) Anderson; one sister-in-law, Barbara Kardules; many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and first wife, he was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Tina Marie Zippel. Friends may call at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls (920-848-2222 or visit: www.jonesfuneral.com) after 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009, until the time of service.
