KLASS --------------------- Passed Away Peacefully at His Home Monday Evening --------------------- PIONEER RESIDENT OF CITY -------------------- Funeral Held Yesterday from Late Home - Survived by Two Daughters and Eight Sons -------------------- William Klass, Sr., died at his home on Main Street Monday evening at about seven o'clock. Five years ago he suffered a stroke of paralysis from which he never recovered. Deceased was born in Germany January 12, 1834, and came to Oconto 1851 and shortly after left here but returned in 1854 and has resided here ever since. On arriving in this country he was employed in Cedarburg for a short time and after coming to Oconto he was a logger and cruiser until several years ago when he retired. In 1863 he was united in marriage to Anna E. Henrich of Winneconne who preceded him in death about three years ago. Deceased is survived by two daughters, Mrs. J. A. Ramsay and Miss Lenore Klass of Oconto and eight sons, S. W., of Waukesha, Fred of Hibbing, Minn., Herbert and Jacob of Oakland, Cal., John E. of Livingston, Mont., William of Green Bay and Al and Ray of Oconto. Funeral was held yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from his late home, Rev. McLandress officiating and interment was made in Evergreen Cemetery. Those who attended the funeral from out of the city were Mr. and Mrs. August Zippel and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Zipple of Oconto Falls, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Spies of Gillet, Mrs. L. A. Cook of Long Beach, Cal., F. A. Klass of Hibbing, Minn., and Will Klass of Green Bay.
