The deceased had only arrived in the city Tuesday, on one of his periodical visits to Beatrice. For several years past he has been a sufferer from heart ailment, and his health has been consequently precarious. It was not thought, however, that he was in a dangerous condition, though for a day or two past he has been quite feeble. His heath was a surprise to his relatives and friends, as it will be to the city. Mr. Stoll, the deceased, was a resident of Brooklyn, N.Y., and was born April 9, 1835, being , consequently, but a few weeks of 58 years of age. He is a brother of our well known fellow citizen, Mr. H.C. Stoll, of Riverside precinct. He was a pleasant and companionable gentleman, and has made hosts of friends in his frequent visits to Nebraska. He was possessed of ample means, having large property interests in Brooklyn, N.Y., and in Gage county, Nebraska. He early became identified with the Beatrice starch factory, and was at his death president of that prosperous concern, as well as a member of the board of directors of the same. He was the leading financial power behind the factory and largely through his energy and means it has brought to its present high prosperity. The deceased was a man of ample means and had the profoundest faith in the west, investing largely in western properties. His esteemed wife was present at his bedside at the time of his death.
