Notes
a. Note:   Sarah's husband, was alleged to have been brought up in a orphanage, which was supposed to account for his being so harsh and severe and an atheist. He had a brother Charles, who emigrated to Canada and later 'enticed' Thomas's own son Thomas to go out there too with his wife Millie. TD senior never forgave his brother for doing this, although Tom and Millie had a good life out there and became very prosperous. I described how I could just remember Millie, by then a widow, coming over to see us all. Grandma confirmed that it was 1957. One of Sarah and Thomas's daughters, also Sarah, had a daughter May, who married a man called Hoxley or Oxley and he was a school caretaker in Dagenham where the get-together was held.
Strangely enough, in 1881, they were living next door to the Watts family whom Thomas married the daughter of
No record of christening, prehaps because of late marriage?
