Notes
a. Note:   Naturalized according to the 1920 Census Hannah (Pedersen) Hendrickson, Anna's mother, came to America from near Hammerfest, Norway when she was 18. Her younger sister, Anna, chose not to come. The younger sister was afraid she would be scalped by Indians. Anna married Olaf Olafsen in Norway. Their mother had died. Hannah's father was a fisherman and may have drowned at sea. Living was difficult for their family. They lived in the side of a hill and were given soup by others. Hannah told Anna Brandt that one was full when one ate it, but one was soon hungry again. Hannah came directly to Brainerd where she worked as a housekeeper and as an employee of a hotel that was located on 17th Street along the railroad shop fence. She saw America as a land of opportunity, saved her money and bought a house on 16th Street. She also kept up to six dairy cows and sold the milk. She married Charles Hendrickson. Emil, went with Hannah on June 5,1926 to Europe. They sailed on the Majestic of the White Star Line. They went to London and Trondhjem. They arrived in NYC on June 1, 1926.They visited Anna Olafson in Nordvagen, Finnmark
