a. Note:   After almost completing the wonderful record of living a century, Mrs. Mary Miller died this morning a 8:00 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Samuel E. Grooms, near Larchland. Mrs. Miller was 96 years of age and came to Illinois in 1856. She was a remarkable woman in many ways had the respect and friendship of a large circle. Mary Tole was born in Rockinghan Co., Virginia, March 4, 1813, and grew to womanhood near that place. She became the wife of Henry Miller in 1831, and moved to Lewis County, West Virginia in 1833. The family came to Illinois in 1856 and settled near Monmouth. Ten children were born to the union, six of whom survive her. James C. Miller of the city and John W. Miller of Ormonde are sons. The funeral will be held Monday morning at 10:30 at the Fairview Church This is my translation from the article in the Daily Review Atlas, Saturday, April 17, 1909. Mrs. A. Eugene Miller.
