  Obituary
CHRISTIAN ZWICKEL - Christian Zwickel was born in Westenburg, Germany, Oct. 11th, 1817 and departed this life March 22, 1896 aged seventy-eight years, five months and eight days.
He emigrated to America in 1842 when he was twenty years old and soon after he landed came to Marion township, this county where he continued to reside until his death.
In 1855 he married Christina Weidner, to this union were born three children, one son and two daughters.
He was a member of the Lutheran church and lived an exemplary christian life. in July 1893 he was stricken with Paralysis of the right half of his body from which he never recovered. He bore his affliction with christian fortitude. By his death the church looses one of its substantial pillars, the community a respected member; his widow a loving husband; the son and daughters a kind and loving father.
The funeral was preached on the 24th, at the church on Rush Creek by Rev. Winters. Text, 2nd Timothy, 4th chap., 7th verse, and the remains were interred in the church cemetery to await the final reserection [sic.]. He died as he had lived trusting the words of the Savior.
 A FRIEND.
