Note: From the Genealogy of the Tapley Family, p.3 In the Middlesex Registry of Deeds is recorded a deed of 14 April 1738 in which Benjamin Tapley of Salem conveys to Benjamin Lynde, Jr., mariner of Salem, "two whole rights or shares of a certain Township of the contents of 6 miles square granted by the great and general court unto the Officers and Soldiers under the Command of Captain King in the Expedition to Canada, 1690, viz.: Two 63rd parts of sd Township which were entered in my name in the general Court's committee, the House lots being drawn and paid for and are number thirteen and number fifty together with all the other divisions that shall or may arise to the same by any ways or means whatsoever." - Lib. 39-219.
