Consideration mentioned, fourteen pounds. Dated March 3, 1709. Witnesses, Ebenezer Morss, Benjamin Gambling. Prudence Tapley (Signed). - Book 9, page 146. Prudence Tapley of Portsmouth, Admx of the estate of John Bradden to William Cotton of Portsmouth. Seventeen acres in Portsmouth. Consideration, one hundred and fifteen pounds. Dated Dec. 4, 1713. Witnesses, Walton Abbott, James Jossey. Signed, Prudence Tapley, William Bradden, Mary Bradden. This deed recites that John Bradden was a former husband of Prudence, and that William and Mary were their children. -- Book 9, Page 146. Prudence Tapley of Portsmouth to George Townsend of Portsmouth, land in Portsmouth, in consideration eighteen pounds, ten shillings. Dated May 20, 1713. Witnesses, John Pickering, Moses Dorn, Nathan Knight. Signed Prudence Tapley. -- Book 9, Page 21. Prudence Tapley of Portsmouth to Solomon Cotton of Portsmouth, land and wharf in Portsmouth, Consideration 4 pounds, 5 shillings. Dated 24 Apr. 1710. Witnesses are William Cotton, Samuel Banfield, John Pickering. Signed Prudence Tapley -- Book 8, Page 89. Prudence Spoor of Portsmouth, Innholder, to Samuel Tapley of Boston, land in Portsmouth. In consideration of the good will and affection which I have and bear to my son Samuel Tapley and other lawful considerations. Dated June 17, 1729. Witnesses, Thomas Phipps, Joseph Nelson. Signed, Prudence Spoor. -- Book 16, Page 349. Prudence died in 1729. Will dated 9 Dec. 1729, mentions children William and John Bratten, mary A. Kerman, Sarah Roberts, Elizabeth Horney and a son Samuel Tapley. Robert, her other son, was not mentioned and it is presumed that he was not living at this time.
