Note: Genealogy of the Tapley Family, p. 10 16 July 1766, Joseph Tapley of Portsmouth and wife deed to Wm. J. Bisan of Portsmouth, one seventh part of land and buildings in Portsmouth. Consideration, seven pounds, ten shillings. Dated 16 July 1766. Witnesses, Henry March, Joseph Kimball. Signed, Joseph and Mary Tapley. Book 90, Page 30, Strafford, NH Registry of Deeds. Served in the Revolution in the New Hampshire troops. His name appears on muster roll of field artillery under the direction of Dr. Hall Jackson. Also as a drummer on a muster roll of field artillery under the command of George Turner and mustered by Major Hackett, December 1775.
