Note:   From the Genealogy of the Tapley Family, p. 4 Several years after the death of her husband, Elizabeth Tapley appears to have been living in that part of Salem afterward set off as Middleton. By deed of 4 Feb. 1754, Elizabeth Tapley of Middleton, widow, conveyed to James Peirce, Jr., of Salem, one third part of a dwelling house and one quarter acre of land in Salem.
