(somerset historical quarterly) judge george augustus vroom jr. died of typhoid fever. genepool records list birthplace as middletown, e. haddam, connecticut. this is probably not the case, but more likely, as his obituary states, 'many of his boyhood days were spent' there since his mother removed there after the death of his father when he was 2 mos. old. it is said that acquaintances would chide him on the streets of camden with offers to buy him a new suit.
