Note: 1880 Census: Listed as "Augusta Schrinece". "Keeps House" Living in Chicago, Cook Co, Illinois. Birthplace listed as Prussia, also parents. This becomes extremely convoluted because of the political situation in Germany in the 2nd half of the 19th Century. Neither of her parents were born in regions which would have been under Prussian control at the time of their births. This changed during their lifetimes, likely after they had come to America. The important info here is that the first Miller/Mueller child was born in Europe. Age Listed as 25..making her born in 1855 or 1854. This is more consistent with Krause's estimate of her parents wedding around 1854. Krause lists Augusta's birthdate as 10/12/1852. Very unlikely the year is correct but the month and day may be. For now, I will leave the month and day unchanged but alter the year to reflect census data. 1900 Census: Living at 32 Orchard St Chicago, Cook Co. IL lists age as born in October 1844 and being 45 years old. Again bad math. Likely October 1854. October matches Chas Krause b-day numbers. Lists year of immigration as 1846. Not possible, as she was not alive then!!! My best is on 1856 in this case. Very important info botched here! can't find in 1910 IL soundex 1920 Census: Living at 4423 Robey Street, Chicago, Cook Co, IL Age 65, widowed. Year of immigration listed as 1857, listed as naturalized in 1863. This generally seems to make sense--although 1857 is Minnie's year of birth, the date is in August. Born Germany, as were parents, no occupation Illinois Records show a death of an Augusta Schreiner in Chicago on 1/19/1940 This matches Chas Krause estimate fairly close. Can't confirm though
