Note: e-mail from Marcia True Burch to Jim Jackson 3/2/2000 re location of Vera, Kansas
I sent the copies of the letters today--and after I did I was reading two
hand-written letters I had from Marcia Turner--who always called herself
Marcia III when she wrote to me--and I was Marcia IV--She mentioned that
Grandmother Castle's maternal family was Johnson (Hepzibah, Dorcas, etc.)
She also mentioned having gone to visit her birthplace in Vera, KS with her
brother and said it was 40 miles east of Paxico--There were mentions in
Uncle Claude's letters of the Vera school--seems like 40 miles was a long
way to go to school---Marcia Turner also said that she was a first cousin
of both my Aunt Pearl Turner True and Otho True--that through the Castles
I think but I don't have it exactly straight .
