Note: o show a little too much skin grandpa would say he had a "Whoopsie daisy" happen that day. He was a very good carpenter of furniture. He delivered chunk ice to homes with his horse and wagon. A trade his sons and grandsons helped in. His first marriage to Annie Baxter ended with her death in 1896, leaving him with two small children, Earl Ellsworth and Effie. He remarried Amy Anna Lewis. No children were born of this union. She had two children and was a widow when they met. Mary Downing Mahan 2006 Obit: Funeral services for Elmer E. Downing , 82, of 835 Upland Ave. who died Monday at his residence at 1PM will be held at 2PM at the First Church of the Nazarene, Howell Ave. The Rev. C.B.Cox will officiate.
