Notes
a. Note:   ia State Library. There is only limited documentation that this James Riveer is the father of James Revier born in 1778. The will of James Riveer is on file at Lancaster Co. VA. Will Book - Pages 180-181. The will states the following about his son James: "I give to my son James Riveer the plantation whereon he lives (known by the name of shop Lands) with the appurtenances thereunto belonging, with the following negros namely, Noel, Erasmus, & Dennis also my large shop tools and a yoke of oxen a cart and wheels, the said James to pay all my just debts, if any to him and his heirs forever." Further evidence that James Revier, born 1778, is the son of James Riveer and Winifred Thomas is recorded in the family Bible. It lists his son James Riveer born February 22, 1778. The Bible also lists the other children. 1810 Census for Lancaster Co. VA lists only "head of household". It lists a James Revier Sr. and James Revier Jr. It also list Thomas Revier, John W. Revier, and Bushrod Revier. Ancestry.com records of the War of 1812, show a James Riveer, 92nd reg't (Chowning, Jr's) Virginia Mil. He was a Private, Roll Box 176 There are also records of a military land grant to a James Reverr, for service done by his father, James Reverr. The land granted was located in Davidson Co. TN. It appears the younger James Reverr turned the land over to a John Blount.
Note:   Northumberland Co. VA has a marriage record that shows James Reveer and Winifred Thomas married on Nov. 14, 1771. This date is also listed in their family Bible. The Bible pages are online at Virgin
