Note: Raymond Heberling Fremont (Ohio) News-Messenger, February 20, 1992 May 1, 1925-Feb. 19, 1992 Raymond Cletus Heberling, 66, of South Main Street, Gibsonburg, died at 3:18 p.m. Wednesday in Memorial Hospital, Fremont, after a brief illness. Born near Helena, he was the son of Wilbert and Fern (Nelson) Heberling. He was a World War II Army veteran and worked for the Ohio Lime Company. He retired as a general laborer for Oscar Hoffman, who farmed and operated oil wells in and around Gibsonburg and Helena. He married Ethel Markin in Gibsonburg on Aug. 7, 1945. She survives. Also surviving are a son Danial, North Baltimore; daugthers, Marilyn Fitzgerald of Waterville and Connie Bryant of Hammond, Ind.; brothers, Robert Heberling and Dale Heberling, both of Fremont; a sister Beatrice Binkley of Bristol, Ind.; and 10 grandchildren. Mr. Heberling was preceded in death by a daughter, Geraldine Daniels and three sisters, Gladys, Hazel, and an infant. He was a 45-year member of the Welker-Smith Post 17 of the American Legion in Gibsonburg, where he had served as sergeant at arms for many years. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Nopper-Veh Funeral Home, 319 W. Madison St., Gibsonburg. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park near Lemoyne. The Welker-Smith Post of the American Legion will conduct military rites at the graveside. Visitation will be in the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Memorials may be made to the family.
