Note: John E. Newman Fremont (Ohio) News-Messenger, October 15, 1969 Bradner- John E. Newman, 75, Douglas Road, died Tuesday at 4:05 p.m. in Diamond View nursing home, Fremont. He had been ill six months and had been transferred to the nursing home last Thursday from Wood County Hospital, Bowling Green. Mr Newman retired in 1961 after 10 years with Kelsey-Freeman Lumber Co., here. Surviving are his wife, the former Inez Caris, whom he married in Bowling Green September 11, 1920. She survives. Other survivors are sons, John, Fostoria; Dale of Wayne; James, Bradner; daughters Betty, at home; Mrs. Bonnie Whitcomb, Toledo; Mrs. Robert L. (Mary Lou) Heberling, 420 Williams Street, Fremont; Mrs. Letha Goshe, Fostoria; and Mrs. Jo Ann Gilmore, Van Buren; sisters, Mrs. Mary Barnes, Toledo; Miss Lucy Newman, Bascone, Okla; a brother, Floyd in Florida; 16 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Mr. Newman was born April 22, 1894 in Scioto County, Ohio, son of George and Josephine Wollam Newman. Friends will be received at the Sage-Barndt funeral home Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 amd 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. in the mortuary with burial at Bradner Cemetery.
