Note: Bernard Watruba, Sr. Fremont (Ohio) News-Messenger, December 22, 1990 May 19,1918-Dec. 21, 1990 The funeral for Bernard D. Watruba Sr. of 220 N. Prosepct St. will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mr. Watruba, 72, a retired Quikut shipping clerk, died Friday morning at Toledo Hospital where he had been a patient the last month-and-a-half. He was born May 19, 1918, in Cleveland, son of Joseph and Catherine (Effinger) Watruba. He married Edith Dodson on June 21, 1946, and she survives. Also surviving are: two sons, Bernard Watruba Jr. and Robert, both of Fremont; four daughters, Linda Watruba and Shirley Heberling, both of Fremont, Jacqueline Drown of Green Springs and Patricia Turon of North Olmstead; two sisters, Mary Daniel and Betty Rosen, both of Clyde; 10 grandchildren; three step grandchildren; and a step great grandchild. Two brothers, Edwin and Robert Watruba, and a sister Dorothy Jennings, died previously. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Rev. Earl Loeffler will officiate at the funeral. Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery, Clyde. Visitation will be at Wonderly-Horvath-Haubert Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. A vigil service will be conducted at the funeral home at 8:30 p.m. Sunday. The family suggested that any memorial contributions be to either the American Cancer Society or the Hospice Program of Memorial Hospital.
