Note: n Lebanon Bourough of Lebanon County, Pennsylvania. Cyrus Bentz inlisted as sergeant 1st class in Company L of the 1st Pennsylvania cavalry regiment in July 1861, and served with them until October 1861, when he recieved a disability discharge. In October 1862, Cyrus inlisted as lietenant 1st class with Company C of the 17th Pennsylvania cavalry regiment, and served with them until April 1863, when he resigned, possibly due to his previous injury. Cyrus is listed in the 1890 veterens schedule in Wooster, Ohio. In the 1870 census, Cyrus is listed as a carpenter, with wife Mariah and daughter Ana, living in Wooster, Ohio. In the 1880 census, Cyrus is still living in Wooster, but is listed as a widower.
