a. Note:   REFN: 248817 Lucinda Evelyn Elkins was born the 9th of January, 1840 in Cabell Count y, Virginia, USA later West Virginia. She married William K.Reed in 18 60 in Arkansas. He was born the 18th of January, 1840 in Tennessee to Samu el Reed and Mary Ann Burnett. He served as a private in the Union Compa ny A orC 1st Arkansas Cavalry as a farrier (shoeing horses). In the 18 60 Crawford County census William and Lucinda lived two houses apart. Th ey lived in Arkansas until about 1873 and then moved to Stone County, Miss ouri, USA where they were located during the 1880 census. They had five ch ildren before Lucinda's death the 11th of February, 1889 in Washburn, Bar ry County, Missouri, USA. William married a widow, Sarah Pratt the 27 th of March, 1889. They had no children. William had a crippled thum b. He died the 8th of August, 1892 in Marionville, Lawrence County, Missou ri, USA from brain and spinal disease, progressive paralysis. He was buri ed in Charity (Bradfield) Cemetery.
