Note: Shirley Novella Butts also known as Grandma Sessions was born in Miller South Dakota, March 11, 1924. She married James Cecil Sessions , December 19, 1939, and was a whole 18 years old. I James Sessions, remember alot about my Grand mother. I remember visiting her often when she lived in Huron South Dakota, Shirley, and my Aunt Caroyln use to take my brother and I horse back riding along the country roads. Shirley had a room in her house that was full of ribbons, and trophies that she had won in rodeos, barrel racing, I remember being impressed when I first saw her room. Shirley died July 6, 1972, in a hospital in Huron South Dakota from a head injure she recieved while working at a sale barn in Miller. A large stear ran into a gate that swung into Shirley, hitting her in the face, and causing her a severe head injury. One thing I left out, Grandma Sessions allways made the best chicken lump gravy.
