a. Note:   In 1882 John Danburg married Celia Pierce, his second wife. Having sold his Iowa farm, he and his brother Frank moved to Mitchell, Dakota Territory, arriving in March, 1883. In 1884 he filed on a homestead and tree claim in Buffalo County and moved his family out that fall, where they lived for 12 years. In1896 he moved to Hand County, where he farmed for 9 years. To the second marriage were born 10 children. They are: Carrie, Deverne, Mattie, Eugene, Celia, Viola, Elmer, Arthur, and 2 baby girls that died at infancy. Viola and Matilda later died. In 1905 the family moved to St. Lawrence, SD where he lived for 36 years.
