Note: Othaniel Case was born in Ohio on April 2, 1827, and died June 26, 1891, age 63 years 6 months and 24 days. His father died six months befoe he was born. Soon after his birth his mother moved to Indiana, and soon moved to Johnson County, Iowa, where his mother died. He was married to Barbara Huff on November 23, 1854. He moved from Johnson County to Ruggold County ( the home of his death ) in the fall of 1855. Their union was blessed with 10 childern, three girls, and seven boys. Othaniel joined the Mount Vernon Christian Church in the winter of 1884. He was baptised the following June. During the time of his membership he lived a devoted consistent life. It is said by those who knew him that he was an honest, and upright man. ( THIS WAS TAKEN FROM A HAND WRITTEN LETTER FOUND IN THE BUTTS FAMILY BIBLE.)
