Note: July 21, 1965 Memoriam to Mrs. Royal sent to magazine A memoriam to the late Mrs. Claudine O'Banion Royal appeared in a recent issue of the Wesleyan Christian Advocate. The memoriam read as follows: We, the members of the Woman's Society of Christian Service of Bethesda Church, Girard, Ga. pay tribute to Mrs. Claudine O'Banion Royal, who was called to her eternal home November 13, 1964. Funeral services were held at Bethany Church by Rev. W.E. McCord, pastor. On Sunday, July 18 flowers were placed in the church in her memory by members at the Quarterly Conference meeting. Mrs. Royal was born Dec. 12, 1881. She was the daughter of C.A. O'Banion and Hettie Godbee O'Banion. She was married to Atticus Royal, May 24, 1908. To this union three children were born; C.W. Royal, Lucille Royal Minor, waynesboro, Ga., Kathleen Royal Perry, Girard, Ga. She also had three grandchildren and two great-grand-children. She was a loyal member of Bethesda Church and served as the first president of the Woman's Society of Christian Service when it was organized in 1933. She was active and took part in all of the services of the church and the WSCS, until her failing health in recent years. Her love, faithfulness, and guidance will be missed in our midst. We would convey to the family our sympathy and assure them that we will continue to hold one so worthy in our memory. The Members of the Woman's Society of Christian Service of Bethesda Church.
