a. Note:   Served until his death. He was killed at Petersburg, VA, 30Jul1864. Laban Odom and his brother-in-law Benjamin Franlin (Frank) Oglesby enlisted in the Burke Volunteers, CSA, on March 4, 1862. They were sent to a camp of instruction in Effingham County. One of the first letter sLaban wrote to his wife includes a note written by BF Oglesby to his sister Elmina.
