Note: with Aunt Freddie when their mother died. Papa took them to her home or either Aunt Freddie's mothers home and sat on the steps and cried. My grandmother was about five years old. Aunt Ruby and Aunt Pearl worked for her-Aunt Freddie- at her motel in Old Sardis. Aunt Freddie paid for them to go to nursing school. I believe my grandmother stayed here as well for some time.
