a. Note:   Mary is buried in St. Peter and Paul Church Cemetery in the Spicer family lot. She married Henry Leo Spicer abt.. 1909. She was widowed in 1918 the mother of four small children and pregnant with her fifth child. In 1920 she lived on a farm in Cumberland, District 24 on Bedford Rd. She was listed as head of household and aged 27. She owned her home and was listed as employer as her occupation. She list her birth place as Kentucky although it has be discounted by previous census where her father list her birth place as West Va. We do not know where in West Va. and it is quite possible that with West Va. bordering Kentucky that she could have been born very close to the state line. I have not researched this fully. It is also possible that a portion of Kentucky could have belonged to West Va. Marriage records for her parents show that they were married in Preston County, West Va. About 1926 Mary married Walter May.
