In the 1870 census Lucy Poffenberger is living in the home of Rachel Foltz, a spinster. Rachel married John Poffenberger son of Lucy in Nov. of 1870. Lucy is aged 66 and is a widow and a pauper. By the 1880 census Rachel is listed as a widow and Lucy Poffenberger is now 74, mother-in-law still living with Rachel.
