  P. H. Brant, son of Peter Henry Brant, was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania in 1867. He married Nettie Richardson of Pope County on November 3, 1892. He was a farmer and school teacher. He and his brother Charles operated a mercantile business for a few years at Appleton in the early 1900's. To this union was born seven children, five sons and two daughters, Clive R., Armol H., Otho, Paul E., Opal E., Velma and Charlotte. All were born and reared in Appleton, Arkansas. P. H. Brant died January 1, 1933. His wife, Nettie, died Oct. 19, 1952. Also deceased are Paul E., Otho and Armol. They are all buried at Appleton. Also, Clive R. is deceased and buried in Ft. Smith. by O. E. Brant (Mother told me that this is Opal E.) NOTE FROM JANIE: I think O.E. might have been a little too old when he wrote this article as I don't think he has things quite right.
