a. Note:   The Advance Reporter, 24 Jan 1946: Funeral services for Johnie Preston Hale, 65, who died in a Waldron hospital January 19, were conducted Sunday, 3:00 p.m. at Mt. Moriah with Rev. Jess Stogner officiating. Burial was in the HALE CEMETERY, under the direction of the Rice Funeral Home. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Johnie Hale; three daughters, Mrs. Faye Millard of Waldron; Mrs. Florence Clark of California and Mrs. Bedess Bates of Little Rock; two sons, Harlin Hale of St. Louis and L.C. Hale.
  Mt. Moriah Directions: It is about 11 miles going east on Highway 250. There is a sign on the righthand side of the road that says "Lick Skillet Fox Pen" - turn right there on a gravel road and it's about a mile to the fox pen and then maybe a quarter mile on further to the cemetery. Need to see how far it is from the other end of 250, beginning at Highway 80. (Bob says this is not the Lick Skillet Road, tho.) I suppose one day soon they'll get the new road signs up out here for 911 - it's really slow going because the ground is so rocky and they're supposed to dig down 2 feet for each sign. - Delaine
