Notes
a. Note:   In 1921 the Army Citizens Military Training Camp was established. The mission of these camps was to help men to become better citizens, to become better Americans, to develop them physically, mentally, and morally, and to teach them manhood and self-discipline. They were conducted under the supervision of Officers of the Regular Army and of the Organized Reserve. Lester Jones joined this organization sometime in August of 1926 at Camp Levenworth, Kansas. Ten Scott County boys were honored at that camp One of those was Lester Jones. Lester Jones of Nola was the best Horseshoe Pitcher in camp and received an attractive bronze medal. The Advance Reporter written on September 2, 1926. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I got this from mom this morning. Love, Rhonda

Aunt Verlon is the wife of daddys brother Lester. I don't know their birth or death dates or where they were buried. The only time I can remember seeing them was when Patricia was about a few weeks old. We went to someplace out from Waldron to visit Granny Jones and see Patricia. Granny was living with Paul and Grace. Paul and Grace lived on and operated a dairy farm. Lester and Verlon were there that day. I remember how much Lesters boys teased me that day. I was the only granddaughter for 10 years until Patricia was born. Sometime after that time Lester and Verlon moved to Kansas City. Their oldest son was named Bobby Joe, and another son named Roy Lee. Roy Lee and his family lived in Jacksonville Florida. After Lester and Verlon retired they spent winters in Florida in a cabin on the beach to be near Roy Lee and his family. I think one of Lesters boys was killed in the war, and I can't remember his name. Today is Granny Jones birthday. She was born on Oct. 10, and we shared the same birth month as I was born on Oct. 3rd.
We are having trouble with our computer. It's been in the shop twice and still has problems. Love you much, Mom
