Note: e married Elizabeth Clemmons on January 9, 1821 in Wilkes County Georgia; they had a son Elisha E. Cary about 1822. (She died about 1830) He married Tilpah Harper on October 4, 1831 in Warren County, Georgia. (She was born 1815) In 1826 Miles Cary and James Cary both or Warren County, Georgia appointed Thomas Stokes of Franklin County North Carolina to act as their power of attorney to receive and sell that which might be due to them as heirs and legatees of their Aunt Nancy Williams, deceased, of Hertford County, North Carolina. Recorded December 13, 1826; book 23 page 28, Franklin County records. Following the death of Elizabeth about 1830, Miles remarried to Tilpah Harper in Warren County Ga. On October4, 1831. They had a son, Edward H. Cary in 1834. In Warren County court, the 1st Tuesday of January, 1830, William Castleberry, tax collector to John Fontaine for $1.00., land lot 35, 5th district, Carroll County Ga. Property of Miles Cary. Attest. Edward Mathews, Micajah Rogers, J.P., 14 June 1830. Carroll County, Georgia abstract of deeds. 1827-1836 Note: this is the same tract of land awarded to Elizabeth Cary, widow of Warren County in the lottery of 1827. Miles Cary was a grandson of Elizabeth Cary. Child of Miles and Elizabeth Clemmons is: Elisha E. Cary, born 1822, Georgia, died 1853 Georgia. Child of Miles Cary and Tilpha Harper are: Edward H. Cary, born June 23, 1834, Warren County Georgia, died June 27 1913, Warren County Georgia.
