They were Clerk and Land Stewards which shows they had some inteligence. Their crime was cattle stealing. They were tried 8/8/1827 at Killkenny and sentenced to life . The "Bordino" sailed from Dublin on 23/2/1828, they arrived in Sydney on the 12/7/1828. Edward was granted his Ticket of Leave on 2/10/1837 but soon had it taken away after stealing some knives and forks and was sent to a chain gang. On the 18/5/1840 Edward wrte to His Execellency Sir George Gipps saying he had done his 6 months in a chain gang and his wife who came free and their 2 children who were born in the colony were near naked with poverty and another child due any time.
